Announcements

November 13, 2008: version 2.0 of DIPlib and DIPimage has been released for Linux and Windows both 32- and 64-bits. Also the amount of supported Matlab versions have been extended, ranging from Matlab 6.0/R12 (for Windows 32-bits) to Matlab 7.7/R2008b (for all platforms).

NOTE: in Linux the java interface of DIPimage crashes with Matlab 7.0/R14 till 7.3/R2006b. This can be solved by starting Matlab with the '-nojvm' option!

May 11, 2007: A new version (1.6) of DIPlib and DIPimage has been released for Linux (32-bits), Linuxa64 (64-bits) and Windows (32-bits).

November 2, 2006: Known issues using DIPimage 1.5.3 and Matlab 2006b. Several incidents have been reported indicating severe problems with the use of DIPimage 1.5.3 and Matlab 2006b. As far as we know these problems do not exist when using Matlab 2006a. We are looking into this problem.

June 29, 2006: A new version (1.5.3) of DIPlib and DIPimage has been release for Linux (32-bits), Linuxa64 (64-bits) and Windows platform.

Version 1.5.3 has been tested on Matlab R14SP1 and later.

The TWiki server has been down for some time now due to hacker attacks and will be replaced by Trac.

June 9, 2005: A new version (1.5.2) of DIPlib and DIPimage has been released for Linux (32-bits), Linuxa64 (64-bits) and Windows platform. Later also a new version will be released for the MacOS X platform. We have no intention to bring out new versions for other platforms, but if previous versions are available they still can be downloaded.

Version 1.5.2 has been tested on the following systems:

O.S.Matlab versions
RedHat 9 (32 bits)R12, R12.1, R13, R14, R14SP1 and R14SP2
RedHat Enterprise WS 3 (32 bits)
RedHat Enterprise AS 3 (64 bits)R14SP1 and R14SP2
RedHat Enterprise AS 4 (64 bits)
Windows XPR13, R14, R14SP1 and R14SP2

The changelist can be found here.

July 8, 2004: The Windows version of DIPimage can now also be used with MATLAB 6.0 (R12).

July 1, 2004: A problem has been found with the Windows version of DIPimage. Because of various internal circumstances, the current release was compiled with MATLAB 6.5 (Release 13). This means that it will not run on older versions due to issues MATLAB has with backwards-compatability of their P-files and MEX-files.

June 29, 2004: A new version of DIPlib and DIPimage has been released for the SunOS, Linux, MacOS X and Windows platforms. Besides the usual small bug fixes and improvements, we added, among others, the following features: new filters (bilateral filtering, adaptive filtering, diffusion, normalized convolution, hysteresis threshold), granulometries, improved image display (looking glass, custom color look-up tables), and improved file I/O (reading Zeiss LSM files, reading file properties and physical distance between pixels, reading time series, etc.).

Notice to SCIL_Image users: we are dropping support for the SCIL interface, and will no longer be distributing it. Do not upgrade DIPlib if you want to keep using it under SCIL.

October 22, 2003: Finally we made the effort to release the Mac OS X version of DIPlib and DIPimage. Since we do not use this version ourselves, there might be some small problems. We do not, however, expect any major issues. Please let us know how it works out for you. The DIPimage User Manual explains the installation procedure, and also gives some hints on using MATLAB under Mac OS X.

October 8, 2003: New versions have been made available for Linux, SunOS and Windows. We have changed our policy concerning the time limits built into DIPlib: all versions are limitless now.
Unfortunately we can no longer provide Linux versions that work with MATLAB 5.3, so we are dropping support for that version. The previous version without a time limit is available through the download-page.
Similarily, the IRIX and Alpha/OSF1 versions are not updated regularily because we do not have these machines ourselves.
